At the competitive level fencers participate in small group drills, footwork and bouting under the direction of our top coaches. The aim of the program is to produce competitive fencers in their age group. Private lessons are available to enhance skills and help fencers meet their goals.
Competitive fencers use electrical scoring equipment. Practice fee does not include use of equipment. Each fencer must have their own mask, jacket, chest protector, underarm protector, glove, body cord and epee. Fencers can be sized and equipment ordered prior to starting the program.
4 Private Lessons
For fencers who are interested in preparing for and attending competitions we recommend the 2-hour Competitive Fencing program that meets up to four days a week, Tuesdays through Fridays 6:00-8:00pm and allows fencers to attend an unlimited number of practices each month. Fencers may also participate during the open recreational practice time. Students are offered priority lesson availability. Private lessons for any level fencer are available upon request. This is a one on one lesson with a coach. Ten minute Private Lessons come in groups of four and must be pre-paid. Lesson sign up is available during class or practice. Lessons are available during class and practice times for current members. Students should be warmed up, stretched and ready to go at the start of the scheduled lesson time. These lessons are a supplement to a regular class or practice. Lessons are available from any coach. Please discuss scheduling with the coach.
